Legacy Of Fallen State Trooper Lives On In K-9 Officer's Gear

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4)- The legacy of a fallen Colorado State Trooper lives on in the gear worn by a police K-9 officer.

Monte, a K-9 officer with the Loveland Police Department, received the Kevlar body armor earlier this week.

Monte was the only police dog that didn't have a protective vest, so McKee Medical Center raised money for the gear.

The vest is embroidered in memory of Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jaimie Lynn Jursevics. She was struck and killed by a drunk driver near Castle Rock last year.
