Tanker Truck Rollover Leads To Shutdown Of I-270

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - A tanker truck that rolled over in a crash on Interstate 270 had the whole whole highway shut down for several hours. Traffic was backed up for miles. The road wasn't reopened until 8:30 p.m.

The accident was on the highway near the Vasquez Boulevard exit, but officials are advising drivers to avoid the whole area due to the crash because both directions of I-270 are closed.

The tanker full of diesel fuel rolled over on the I-270 on-ramp eastbound from Vasquez but none of the fuel leaked.

Crews have brought in an empty tanker to off load the fuel from the rolled tanker. Once that tanker is empty, crews can move it.

The driver sustained minor injuries in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
