Leaders Of Longmont Church Sentenced For Role In Sex Assault Case

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- A judge sentenced four leaders of a Longmont church on Friday for failing to report sexual assault allegations.

Former Vinelife youth pastor Jason Roberson had an inappropriate relationship with a church member starting when she was just 15 years old.

He was sentenced to two years in jail and 10 years of sex offender probation in July 2014. He was also ordered to undergo sex offender treatment.

Pastors Walter Roberson and Robert Young along with elders Edward Bennell and Warren Williams failed to report the allegations when they first learned about them.

They all pleaded no contest for failure to report child abuse.

Williams was sentenced to 40 hours of community service. The other three were sentenced to work crew.
