Watching For T-storms
DENVER (CBS4) - After a sunny morning with a high of 87 in Denver on Sunday, thunderstorms took over the afternoon. Heavy rain, small hail and up to 60mph wind gusts prompted a severe t-storm warning for north Denver metro areas. And another batch of weaker storms soaked the south side of the metro in the early evening. Here is a nice rainbow shot from our Mile High Cam around 6:15 pm on Sunday night.
Severe storms with large hail pelted parts of the eastern plains. Some of the storms produced baseball size hail in southern Washington County and near Holly in the southeastern corner of the state.
There is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for some of those areas through 11 pm Sunday night.
The trend of 80s and late storms will continue through most of the week ahead. Storms should be a little less severe on Monday.
