Warming Up After Bitter Cold

By Lauren Whitney
DENVER (CBS4) -

Our deep freeze is moving on from Colorado for a few days, we bounced back from our high of 10 degrees on Tuesday back to the upper 40s on Wednesday.

The winds that helped push this cold air out, will stick around in the high country for a few days. It will stay pretty gusty in the foothills and mountains on Thursday and Friday.

There could still be a little light snow in the high country overnight into Thursday morning, but no major accumulation is expected.

Temperatures will continue to climb going into Thursday and Friday, with highs back in the 50s on Thursday and close to 60 by Friday.

A new system heads our way for the New Year's weekend. There is a chance for snow in the high country on Saturday and Sunday, and possibly a little in Denver on Saturday night.

We'll also cool off quite a bit for the final day of 2017. We could be down to the 20s with single digits overnight into Monday.
