Much Cooler Temperatures On The Way
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver and the Front Range area dealing with terrible haze and awful air quality issues thanks to many wildfires burning in the western United States.
Elevations below 7,000 feet in eastern Colorado remain under an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke coming in from the north and west. This includes metro Denver. It's in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
In addition there's an Ozone Alert in effect for the urban corridor.
Temperatures will take a significant tumble on Tuesday with highs in the low 70s! Monday we were still very hot, with highs in the mid 90s. We hit 94 here in Denver.
A cold front working it's way through will knock down our temperatures, but should also help push some of this haze out. The haze won't totally go away as those fires are still burning strong out wets.
We'll stay in the 70s on Wednesday, but jump right back to the upper 80s on Thursday.
