Unsettled Weather Week Ahead For Colorado

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - Get ready for a fairly active week of weather across Colorado.

We saw a surge of cooler air move into eastern Colorado overnight. It kicked up a quick shot of snow for Denver and the northeast plains.

Meanwhile, in the mountains, it's a different story. Heavy snow will continue as a powerful jet stream roars over the Central Rockies. By late this afternoon and early evening the intensity and coverage should decrease with just lingering snow showers if you have travel plans.

Monday will bring a fairly quiet start to the new week but it doesn't last for long. Our next weather maker will arrive by Tuesday with another chance for snow statewide.
