Cooler, Storms to End the Week, Then A Great Weekend

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - After starting the day with stratus cloud cover up and down the Front Range, skies cleared and the temperature warmed to 73 degrees officially out at DIA. Now, Thursday and Friday will bring a better chance for showers and thunderstorms to Denver and the Front Range and temperatures cool back into the upper 60s for Thursday and low 60s for Friday.

Then a near perfect weekend comes our way: Plenty of sunshine for your Saturday with a high in the mid 70s. We'll stay with sunny skies on Sunday and only a little cooler - high in the upper 60s.

Big change on Monday: a strong cold front will sweep through the state bringing more rain and dropping our high temperature into the low 40s. The low Monday night into Tuesday morning could drop to the upper 20s - so if those showers continue, they could become mixed with snow!
