Chances For Rain On The Rise

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - A few gusty thunderstorms will dot the radar this afternoon and evening thanks to daytime heating, but most will produce very little in the way of rainfall.

However that changes as we move into the weekend.

Fire danger remains high through this evening with the worst conditions on the western slope.

Starting tonight moisture will be on the increase from the south and southwest. Some of it is left over from what was once Hurricane Bud. We could see some rain showers develop in western Colorado by sunrise.

During the day on Saturday some of the rain could be heavy in the southwestern corner of our state so the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Saturday.

A cooling trend will take us right into next week and we will see a daily chance for showers and thunderstorms.
