Cooler Temperatures For The Weekend

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) -

After a cloudy morning and a gorgeous sunrise, skies clear and gave us another sunny day in Colorado.

Temperatures once again climbed into the upper 70s, and we'll stay there again on Thursday. And again on Friday. We'll have a few more clouds however later in the week.

There will be a weather change heading into the weekend. A low pressure system that is brewing over the Gulf of Alaska right now and will make its way towards Colorado by Saturday. The low may not pass through, but a cold front will and that will knock down our temperatures to the 50s on Saturday! This will also bring the chance for rain and snow to the high country, mainly on Friday night.

Denver and the eastern plains could even see a few rain showers, although the chance is much higher in the mountains. Stay tuned as we watch how this one will unfold.

After the brief cool down warmer weather will return once again by Sunday when we head back to the 70s.
