Wind & Warm Temperatures Mean Fire Danger On The Rise

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - After a nice weekend cool down, temperatures climbed back to the 80s today. Overnight, winds will pick up a bit and this will lead us into a windy Tuesday.

Those winds will start cranking on Tuesday, that along with low humidity and warmer temperatures mean fire danger will be very high on Tuesday. Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches will start at 1:00 am for areas from the high country all the way to the eastern plains. Winds could gust between 30 and 50 mph, with humidity levels dropping below 12%.

Temperatures will also be much warmer on Tuesday. We head back to the upper 80s. Summer is holding on tight!

We'll be warm and windy through Thursday, before a cooler day on Friday for the first day of fall. This weekend looks to actually really feel like fall with temperatures in the 60s and a chance for rain.
