Warmer Temperatures After Massive Cool Off

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - A powerful summer cold front passed through the front range and plains early this morning. We had showers and even thunderstorms out on the eastern plains as the front made it's way through. This knocked our temperatures almost 40 degrees from Wednesday! Denver's high for Friday came at 3:40 am, when we were at 61 degrees. The clouds stayed in place, keeping us from warming up again.

Overnight, the front range and foothills will be a bit cool with lows in the upper 40s.

This weekend should be really lovely for most of us. We can't rule out isolated storms both afternoons, but overall expect partly sunny to mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 70s.

The high pressure ridge will start to build back up by Monday, bringing drier and warmer weather back to Colorado. We'll be back to the 90s by Tuesday. Enjoy the mild temperatures while they last!
