Snow Continues for the Mountains and Denver Might Also See Some Snow

DENVER (CBS4) - Breezy to gusty winds found around the sate once again Wednesday as snow continues in the high country and the Avalanche Warning has now been extended until at least Thursday evening at 6pm. Denver reached a high, officially, of 56 degrees but that came before Noon just as a cold front slid into northeastern Colorado and dropped the temperature into the 20s by late afternoon. For Thursday expect a cooler day with a high only in the upper 30s with a chance for light snow developing and possibly snow right at the evening rush hour. Doesn't look like much however, with up to an inch around the metro area and 1-3" into the foothills. Snow does continue for the high country and the Avalanche Warning has been extended to 6pm Thursday.

Partly cloudy skies in Denver and back in the upper 30s for Friday; more seasonal on Saturday with a high in the mid 40s under partly cloudy skies. Then over night Saturday into Sunday light snow develops and may continue off and on right into Monday. Sunshine returns Tuesday with a high in the mid to upper 40s...into the low 50s by Wednesday.
