A Mostly Fair and Warm Holiday Weekend Coming Up

DENVER (CBS4) - Our holiday weekend kicked off with severe storms over northeastern Colorado. Storm Warnings, Flash Flood Warning and even tornado warning were all posted during the afternoon. We did have a confirmed tornado 11 miles northwest of Yuma just after 4pm. Storms were also found across the south central, southeastern and northwestern portions of the state, but no warning were posted. Denver stayed mostly sunny and dry with a high reaching 84 degrees officially at the airport and a degree warmer downtown

For Saturday we'll keep widely scattered to isolated storms in the forecast and push the high into the mid to upper 80s. Sunday will be mostly sunny and dry with a high in the upper 80s and we'll stay dry for the Labor Day holiday as well with a high in the mid to upper 80s. Heading back to work on Tuesday, we'll add an isolated storm back to the forecast with a cooler high in the lower 80s; mostly sunny, warm and dry for Wednesday, high in the low to mid 80s.
