Mother Nature Making Up for all That Warm, Dry Weather

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - The latest spring storm to move into Colorado will cause rain and snow statewide on Tuesday. A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for the mountains from late Tuesday through early Wednesday for 4-12 inches of snow. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from west and south of Denver for 4-10", down through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and south to Trinidad for 6 to 12 inches of snow.

Overnight rain will change over to snow in the greater metro area, but mainly west and south for up to 3"; Denver will be right on that rain/snow line...so as with last Friday's system, rain from the city and to the north, with snow to the south and west.

Snow ends as Wednesday progresses with a high in the lower 50s. Sunshine and warmer temperatures return for Thursday with a high into the mid 60s. But right on the heels of this last system, the next one arrives on Friday with rain in Denver by midday with a cooler high back in the mid 50s, and again, snow to the west. Saturday sees rain or snow showers and a cool high in the mid 40s but we'll save the weekend with more sunshine on Sunday with a seasonal high in the upper 50s.
