Frigid Temperatures Settle In Overnight

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - A back door cold front brought ice and snow from the foothills to the eastern plains. A layer of freezing drizzle created icy conditions, making for a very rough morning commute. The snow totals were mainly less than an inch for many areas, but a few spots in Larimer county saw over 3 inches of snow.

Temperatures were cold on Monday, we only hit 30 degrees in Denver. And that came at 3:00 in the morning!

Frigid temperatures will settle in overnight into Tuesday morning. We have Wind Chill Advisories for the eastern plains, as wind chills could drop to -10 to -25 degrees. These are dangerously cold temperatures, please layer up and limit your time outdoors on Tuesday morning.

We'll get a little warmer on Tuesday, to the mid 30s with plenty of sunshine. After that, we are back to very warm temperatures and stay there through Friday.

Saturday could bring our next chance for snow.
