More Heat Before Cooler Temperatures

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) -

Wednesday brought our thirteenth 90+ degree day of the year to the Denver area, and we'll add two more as we head to Friday.

Thursday will be our toastiest day of the week, with highs approaching 100. We'll have sunshine, clouds, and wind statewide. A few isolated storms are possible, but overall it's a dry day.

On the western side of the state, we'll have very high fire danger. Red Flag Warnings will be in place thanks to the gusty winds, high temperatures, low humidity, and dry vegetation. Please be extra careful!

For the Front Range, we'll have another day with an Ozone Action Day.

A pattern change this weekend will bring cooler and hopefully wetter weather to most of Colorado through early next week.
