Break From The Heat This Weekend

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - Heavy rain in possible with storms rolling through Colorado on Friday. Some of the storms could potentially turn severe on the eastern plains. Here in Denver, we may get some heavier rain and lightning.

Flooding is a major concern with the heavier rainfall, especially on the Western Slope and high country. Flash Flood Watches are in place because heavy rain could cause flooding.

Before the rain, skies were sunny and we once again had a hot day. Temperatures hit the 90s, we officially reached in Denver.

Saturday, a weak cold front will pass through and cool our temperatures to the low to mid 80s! Finally, a break from the heat. We could still see heavier rain on Saturday, but storm chances greatly decrease on Sunday.

Monday, we're back to the 90s and sunshine so enjoy the cool down while it lasts!
