More Storms Friday, Much Cooler Weekend

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - Another hot day, but not quite as hot as we were on Wednesday when we hit 100 degrees. Denver officially hit 95, we had a lot of sunshine early in the day.

Temperatures quickly dropped as storms rolled through mid-afternoon. Some heavy rain and hail fell south of Denver and out near DIA. We didn't get much of anything downtown, but some areas around Denver certainly saw quite a bit.

Friday could bring more heavy rain to Colorado, with severe storms possible from the central mountains to the eastern plains. Storms will be capable of producing larger hail, a lot of lightning, and heavy rain. Temperatures will still be in the 90s.

This weekend, we cool down quite a bit to the low to mid 80s! We could still see a few storms in the afternoon and evenings.

We are warmer to start next week, with highs in the upper 80s and storms staying in the high country.
