Snow Continues In The Mountains, Possibly Heading To Denver

By Lauren Whitney
DENVER (CBS4) -

A very quick weather change in Colorado! A cold front quickly moved through this afternoon, dropping our temperatures to the 30s after reaching the mid 50s earlier in the day. We've been very windy since the front moved through.

This system brought snow to the high country, and we may see snow through the evening in the Denver area. As the upslope encounters moisture spilling east out of the mountains, we should see at least a few snow bands around Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. Some areas under these bands could see upwards of 3 inches of snow, while other areas just get a dusting.

We have Winter Weather Advisories in the mountains and plains through Tuesday morning. Most areas will see 3 to 5 inches of snow, however a few spots may pick up around a foot of snow. Winds will also stay strong, meaning low visibility at times.
