Heavy Mountains Snows Continue; Maybe a Rain Shower for Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - Less wind, but still gusty in some areas around the state on Tuesday. A High Wind Warning has been issued for the front range from the northern border to the southern border: gusts possible to 65mph. Denver saw a cooler high today, but one that was still well above normal when 52 degrees was recorded at both the airport and downtown locations. Expect more of the same for Wednesday - back into the low 50s - but well add a slight chance for an isolated rain shower.

The snow continues to pound the mountains with either a Winter Weather Advisory or a Winter Storm Warning for most mountain locations...and the Avalanche Warning continues until at least 6pm Wednesday.

Colder weather moves into the metro area by Thursday and with that a chance for light snow during the afternoon hours - the high should drop into the upper 30s. Mostly cloudy on Friday and staying cold with a high in the mid 30s. Saturday warmer into the mid to upper 40s under partly cloudy skies. Sunday turns colder again with another chance for light snow and high back in the upper 30s.
