From Record Heat To Snow
DENVER (CBS4) -
Monday felt more like late summer than almost December. We shattered the all time record high for November with a high of 81 degrees! The old record was 80 degrees, previously set in 2006 and 2016. We also broke the daily record high of 74 degrees from 1950.
This unbelievable heat won't last for long, a cold front is heading right for Colorado. Ahead of this front, we've been windy and those winds will continue through the evening.
The cold front will pass over Denver and the Front Range Monday evening causing dramatically colder air to invade for Tuesday. High temperatures will be in the 40s around Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. This will seem chilly since we've been so warm, but this will actually put us at our average for this time of year.
There won't be much snow, a few inches for the high country. Here in Denver, the snow will be light and could make for a slick commute. The snow will develop during the morning rush hour. The "bulls eye" for snow in Colorado will be south of Pueblo where up to 5" are possible around Walsenburg and south toward Raton Pass.
Skies slowly clear through the afternoon, with some sunshine even possible later in the day.
