Heating Up For the Weekend

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - ...A weak cold front just hovered over northeastern Colorado and that helped to keep our highs in the 80s today: officially 85 degrees at the airport and 88 downtown. Clear skies overnight with a high by morning in the upper 80s. Then Saturday we'll begin to heat up again: the high will push into the low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Even warmer (hotter!) for Sunday - Father's Day - with a high in the mid to upper 90s!

Then a weak front will slide over Colorado Monday with a high dropping about 10 degrees - into the mid 80s - under partly sunny skies. Summer also officially arrives at 4:34 Monday afternoon. We'll add an isolated storm into Tuesday's forecast and warm into the upper 80s. Wednesday we are back into the low to mid 90s with scattered late day storms that will try to bring a little relief from the heat.
