Nice Weather Gives Way to Just a Slight Chance for Snow

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Thursday saw sunshine, blue skies and official high of 54 degrees - ten degrees above normal. Downtown the high was just one degree shy of 60 degrees! Now the next storm system is moving into the state from the west and has prompted Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings for most mountain locations, in effect until midnight Saturday for up to a foot and a half of new snow. And there are yet two more systems out in the Pacific that will be headed to Colorado!

Overnight we will see increasing clouds over Denver with rain or snow showers developing toward dawn. Doesn't look like much - from a dusting to maybe and inch or two should be all around the greater metro area. The high will cool into the mid 40s.

Look for partly cloudy skies for Saturday with a high back in the mid 40s, then sunshine for Sunday and a high again in the mid 40s. Monday will see increasing clouds with rain showers developing late, changing over to snow overnight Monday into Tuesday as our next system arrives. This system will also bring colder air - so expect a high for Tuesday only in the mid 30s.
