Summer Arrives Tuesday With Hot Temperatures
DENVER (CBS4) - Like it or not, the heat will be ramping up in Colorado over the next few days. This heat will be dangerous in some areas. A heat advisory is in place for the Grand Valley of the Western Slope through Thursday. Temperatures could reach anywhere from 100-105 degrees over the next few days. Relief won't be that great overnight either, lows will be in the 70s.
For the Front Range, we'll be knocking on the door of a few daily record highs, but we may not crack any of them. Tuesday in Denver, we'll jump to 96 degrees. Wednesday, 97. Many mountain areas will be in the low 80s!
A cool down does look to head our way by Friday, but we'll continue to watch the models as some of them still show heat through the weekend.
With these hot temperatures, it's important to remember not to leave your pets in the car. If you can, get your outdoor exercise done early in the day, before the heat sets in. You'll also want to find some air conditioning and stay hydrated.
