Summer Heat Today...A Cool Down on Friday

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Another day with temperatures well above normal as real summer weather hangs on! Plenty of sunshine and blue skies as, officially, Denver reached 89 degrees and 88 downtown on Monday: 7 degrees above normal and just 5 degrees off the 1959 record high. A cold front will sweep through the state overnight into tomorrow dropping the high temperature over a dozen degrees - down into the mid 70s for Friday. The front will be mostly dry, so we will continue with mostly sunny skies.

We warm a few degrees as we start the weekend: mostly sunny Saturday with a high right around 80 degrees, then warmer again Sunday with sunshine and a high near 90! Another cold front will push through the state Sunday night and this would could bring a few showers or storms - a high in the lower 70s Monday, only in the mid 6os for Tuesday.
