Flash Flood Watch West, Much Cooler East

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - There's a lot happening with Colorado's weather today.

First a strong cool front raced across the eastern plains this morning dropping our high temperatures by over 20 degrees: Denver was 96 yesterday, just 75 today! Look for another cool day for Friday. Moisture could begin to arrive this evening and overnight - you may wake up to showers, but I think the really heavy rain by late afternoon or early evening on Friday.

Mostly cloudy skies as we start the weekend, and again with scattered showers and isolated storms, with a high for Saturday a bit warmer as we climb into the lower 80s. Little change for Sunday with a high in the mid 80s.

Drier weather with more sunshine brings more heat as we begin next week: only isolated storms for Monday with a high near 90; little change for Tuesday with a high into the lower 90s.
