More Fair, But Cooler Weather for Colorado

DENVER (CBS4) - Monday was a hot and dry day across Colorado with only a few isolated storms over southeastern areas of the state. Denver's high soared 10 degrees above normal to 93 degrees - just 4 degrees off the record high for the date - while the high downtown was 90. A weak cool front will now push through the state and that will cool us around a dozen degrees over Monday's highs with a better chance for a few storms.

Wednesday will see plenty of sunshine with a high back in the low 80s and little change on Wednesday with a high in the low to mid 80s. Thursday warms into the mid to upper 80s with mostly sunny skies. A wild card that could change the forecast is Hurricane "Newton", sitting south of Baja California. The category one storm is moving northwest, but is forecast to turn more northeast - and if it does, it could aim toward southeast Arizona, but the moisture that comes with it could send some storms and showers toward Colorado by mid to late week.

Friday should be mostly sunny but cooler again with a high in the upper 70s. We'll begin the weekend with mostly sunny skies and a high in the seasonal lower 80s.
