Few Cool Days Ahead Before Warming Trend

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - The first weekend of Fall 2016 will feature temperatures below normal thanks to a strong cold front that blew through the state on Friday.

We will continue to see light rain and mountain snow showers scattered about today, mostly west of the Continental Divide. As the day goes on the shower activity will gradually come to an end as a big low pressure continues to move away.

Sunday will be the coolest day of the extended period but it should be sunny and dry - just about perfect to go into the mountains and look at the fall color.

Warmer temperatures will arrive early next week.
