Pleasant Weekend Before a Shot Of Winter

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Welcome to December...typically our 3rd snowiest month, on average. Lets hope we see that develop because we were been so dry for ALL of November! For the first weekend of December, that trend continues: mild and dry - sunny skies Saturday with a high in the low 60s...mostly sunny Sunday with a milder high in the mid 60s.

Then a major change: much colder air moves into the state late Sunday into Monday and this next system will also bring several inches or snow to the high country...and maybe an inch or two for the greater Denver metro area. Keep in mild the road surfaces will be warm with high temperatures above freezing, so while you might see a little white on cars and grassy areas, the roads should just remain wet.

By late Monday afternoon we could see some sunshine returning, but the high won't get out of the mid to upper 30s. Look for more sunshine on Tuesday, but a chilly high once again - in the upper 30s. Looking to Wednesday through Friday of next week: sunny to partly sunny skies continue with a gradual warm-up...into the low 50s by Friday.
