Snow Heading For High Country Thursday Night
DENVER (CBS4) - A cooler day in Colorado thanks to cold front that worked it's way through on Tuesday night.
The cool down is short-lived however with significantly warmer weather returning tomorrow, highs in Denver should climb back into the lower 70s.
Then our second front of the week rolls in on Thursday night into Friday.
The mountains will see snow with this front (mainly west of the Eisenhower-Johnson Tunnels) while Denver and the Front Range sees very little precipitation. If we get anything, it will likely be a brief rain or snow shower Friday evening.
Almost all of our western mountains will be under a Winter Storm Watch from Thursday night through Friday for 6 to 12, or more, inches of snow. Our mountains could really use some snow to open up more ski resorts.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday will be cool with highs struggling to reach 50° in the metro area. Sunday will be milder with highs near 60° at kickoff of the Broncos game. It will also be sunny and dry all weekend.
