Cool Down Doesn't Last Long

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - Cooler temperatures on Wednesday thanks to a cold front that moved through earlier in the day, and a storm that moved south of Colorado. Our temperatures fell a few degrees to 50 here in Denver. More clouds rolled in late in the afternoon, with light snow falling in parts of the high country.

The cool down doesn't last long, as high pressure builds in on Thursday. This brings our temperatures back to the mid 50s with plenty of sunshine.

We are even warmer on Friday and Saturday with highs close to 70! We'll also be a bit windy on those days. Fire Weather Watches will be in place on Friday for the far southeastern plains as winds will be gusty and humidity quite low.

Then a cold front originating on the West Coast will arrive late Sunday bringing much cooler weather for early next week along with a small chance of snow in the metro area Sunday night into Monday morning. We'll keep you posted but right now it doesn't look like much.
