Cooler, Cloudy And Stormy

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - A drastically different day in Colorado! With our monsoon season in full swing and a weak cold front that made it's way through the state, we dropped to the upper 70s today in downtown Denver! Officially at DIA, we hit 82 degrees. Along with cooler temperatures and a lot of cloud cover, we also had some rain here in Denver and several severe thunderstorms on the plains.

This trend will hold on for Thursday with more scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some of those storms also have a chance for producing severe weather. Hail, heavy rain, and lightning will be the biggest threats from the storms on Thursday. Highs should hit the mid 80s.

Friday we warm up a touch, and do have a slight chance for isolated storms. As we head into the weekend, temperatures warm up and we dry out.
