Gusty Winds & Cold Temps, Plus Chance For Snow

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) -

A chilly day in Colorado! We hit 38 degrees for our high on Wednesday. For the next 36 hours we will be feeling the chilly side of the jet stream with a few quick fronts passing through. Each one will kick up the wind and generate scattered snow showers in both the mountains and on the plains.

Our best chance for snow in Denver will be in the afternoon and evening on Thursday, but the chances aren't that great. The high country has a much better shot at snow, although not much accumulation. If we see anything at all in Denver, it will be light.

Temperatures will be very cold heading into Thursday morning, and we'll be very windy once again. Most of the high country and northwestern Colorado will be in the single digits with bitter wind chills.

Starting Friday we'll once again feel the warm and windy side of the jet stream with dry and mild conditions returning for the weekend. We'll be back in the 60s quickly by Saturday.
