Still Chilly Now...but Watching a Developing Winter Storm for Next Week

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Cloudless blue skies stayed around all day Wednesday, but the sunshine only warmed us by two degrees over Tuesday as we topped out with an official high right at 40 degrees. Thursday will begin to see increasing clouds ahead of a weak system that will move through the state - look for a high back in the upper 30s. Mostly cloudy skies, maybe a few isolated snow showers and chilly on Friday, high in the lower 30s.

A better weekend: Mostly sunny and not as cold on Saturday, high in the lower 40s; Mostly sunny again Sunday with ahigh in the upper 40s. Partly cloudy skies Monday, high 43. Then a good chance for a strong winter storm to plow through the state bringing much colder air and more snow, not only to the mountains, but maybe a good dose of snow right here in Denver. The system is still almost a week away and still in the forming stages...but you might just want to search for your snow shovel this weekend...you might need it next week.
