Colder Air And Snow Coming To Colorado

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Wednesday the Denver temperatures soared to 66 degrees officially (just 3 degrees off the 1894 record high of 69!) and 67 degrees downtown. Now overnight, colder air with some light snow moves into Colorado. A Winter Weather Advisory until Midnight Thursday is out for the western half of the state for 4 to 8 inches of snow and up to a foot in some favored areas. In Denver we can expect about 1 to 3 inches across the metro area, starting right around the morning rush hour and ending by afternoon. The high will only manage to inch into the lower 20s for the high - 44 degrees cooler that today!

Sunshine returns with a high around 40 for a better Friday. Then another chance for snow or snow showers and colder for Saturday - expect a high around 30...not nearly as cold as we once thought. Sunshine returns Sunday with a high of 33 Christmas Day expect a seasonal Monday with a high in the low 40s under partly sunny skies.
