Strong Wind Blows In Monday

By Dave Aguilera

DENVER (CBS4) - High pressure is strengthening over the central Rockies along with a cold front working its way across the Pacific Northwest. These to systems along with strengthening upper level jet stream will really ramp up the wind heading into the start of the work week.

Monday's wind will be a westerly down-slope wind. This will warm eastern Colorado highs into the 70s and 80s on Monday. The strong winds will also, ramp up the fire danger for many areas of the state.

There is also, a High Wind Advisory for northwestern Colorado and a High Wind Warning for a large area of the eastern plains for Monday night into Tuesday afternoon.

A cold front Monday night will also bring in a chance for snow in the mountains and an overnight mix of rain and snow for Denver.
