Overall Warmer And Drier Today. Isolated T-Storms Still Possible
DENVER (CBS4) - After experiencing our coolest day in 6 weeks and our wettest day since May, Friday promises to be much warmer and overall much drier. A thunderstorms moved southeast over the Denver metro area early Friday morning. Aurora picked up 0.20" of rain, Broomfield saw 0.05". We have a 10% chance for additional thunderstorms along the Front Range through Friday evening.
A better chance for afternoon storms exists in the mountains and on the far Eastern Plains (mainly east of Limon and Fort Morgan). In fact, if storms manage to impact the far plains, they could be borderline severe with gusty winds and maybe some hail.
In terms of temperatures, Friday will be at least 15 degrees warmer than Thursday with highs in the 80s along the urban corridor. Thursday's high in Denver was only 67°!
For your weekend, plan on 80s again in the metro area on Saturday followed by 70s for Sunday as another summer cold front arrives. The front will also bring a better chance for thunderstorms for Sunday and Monday.
