Patchy Monday AM Fog, Then PM Storms

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - The weather will stay fairly active for early August standards through the middle of the week.

That's because an active jet stream sitting overhead will transport occasional areas of disturbed weather through the state.

Typically the jet stream is further north this time of year.

In addition a cool front will dip into eastern Colorado out of Wyoming and keep temperatures below normal for a few days.

That cooler air may aid in the formation of fog on the northeast plains around sunrise Monday.

By afternoon we'll be tracking another round of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, a few of which could be on the strong to severe side.

A warming and drying trend will gradually settle into the state by the end of the week.
