Severe Storms Blow Up Again

By Dave Aguilera

DENVER (CBS4) - Severe storms pounded parts of Colorado to kick off the first full work week of August. Ping pong to softball sized hail rocked the south side of Colorado Springs into the Security area early in the afternoon. Then severe storms blasted through parts of Weld, Morgan and Adams counties later in the day.

Several injuries and extensive damage to cars and homes occured in the Broadmoor area.

All the ingredients are in place for more afternoon thunderstorms on Tuesday. Some of these may also be severe hail producers.

A drier pattern should start to set up by the end if the week. Just in time for the Broncos first pre-season game on Saturday. With sunshine and mid 80s!
