Heat Wave Finally Over
DENVER (CBS4) - Our long stretch of 90 degree heat came to an end on Wednesday thanks to a cold front and rain! We only hit 84 degrees, a much welcome change from the nine days of 90s we had before.
Not only did we get the cool down, we saw some much welcome rain! This is much welcome rain as we've been so dry lately. We saw a nice rain from the southwestern corner of the state to the eastern plains. Many areas of Colorado saw a nice drink.
Overnight rain from Wednesday into Thursday is possible, mainly in the high country and southern Colorado. However, a few showers could make their way into the Denver area too.
We'll most likely wake up to cloudy skies on Thursday, possibly even some fog in a few spots. Skies will slowly clear and we should have sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the low 80s.
We drop to the mid 70s on Friday, our final day of summer. It may get a bit windy, but we should stay dry.
Then back to warmer than normal weather for the weekend with 80s both Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies.
