Larimer County Jail Nears Capacity

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- The Larimer County Jail is nearing capacity and jail authorities are urging law enforcement officers to use discretion before putting someone behind bars.

According to The Coloradan, there were 573 inmates at the jail on Friday. That number was expected to increase over the weekend.

The jail has 600 beds which puts it at more than 95 percent capacity.

If the jail population continues to grow, authorities warn inmates may have to be moved to other facilities.
