Lakewood Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood investigated an officer-involved shooting on Monday afternoon. The shooting happened about 3:45 p.m. near Sheridan Boulevard and 3rd Avenue.
Police said that a man with a knife was threatening drivers, pedestrians and officers near Harlan and 4th. One 911 caller said they were afraid there may be children in the area as a bus stop was nearby.
Another 911 caller said the suspect moved to 3rd and Depew Street.
When officers arrived, they say the suspect ran from them to Sheridan Boulevard.
Sheridan is completely closed between 4th and 1st due to an agent involved shooting. Please avoid area. PIO enroute.

A taser was deployed but it did not stop the suspect from coming at officers.
Officials say the man did not comply with their orders. That's when an officer fired his weapon, hitting the suspect.
The suspect was taken to the hospital, but officials did not say how he is doing.
There was no estimate on when the road would reopen.

There are no reports of other injuries.
