Lace Up For Global Running Day On Wednesday

DENVER (CBS4)- Global Running Day is Wednesday where runners across the globe will lace up their running shoes to honor the sport.

There will be running events around the world, including in Denver.

"Whether you're brand new to the sport, whether you've been running for a long time, it's a great day to go outside, run, join an event with other people, go to a trail, have some fun and just move your legs," said editor of Competitor magazine Brian Metzler.

There is a three to five mile fun run at Runner's Roost on South Colorado Boulevard that starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Fun run participants can get a discount if they sign up for the Rock N' Roll Denver races this fall that include a 5K, 10K and half marathon.

Registration is open for the race. Visit runrocknroll.com/denver/ to register.
