King Soopers Shooting: Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa Suspected Of Killing 10
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) -- The suspect in the mass shooting at a grocery store in Boulder on Monday has been identified as 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa
from Arvada. Ten people, including one police officer, were killed at the King Soopers store at Table Mesa Drive and South Broadway.
Alissa was shot in the leg by a Boulder police officer and was taken into custody. He was released from the hospital and booked into the Boulder County Jail.
Alissa has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder. There is no information about a possible motive at this time.
Investigators believe there are no other suspects involved in the shooting.
Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold identified the officer who died as 51-year-old Eric Talley. She says he was first to arrive at the scene and called his actions "heroic." Talley was a father of seven.
A total of 10 people had been killed inside the store and in the parking lot, including one person in a vehicle in the parking lot. They are: Denny Stong, 20, Neven Stanisic, 23, Rikki Olds, 25, Tralona Bartkowiak, 49, Suzanne Fountain, 59, Teri Leiker, 51, Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley, 51, Kevin Mahoney, 61, Lynn Murray, 62, and Jody Waters, 65.
AIissa's Facebook page reveals he was born in Syria, attended Arvada West High School and was a wrestler. CBS4 also learned he was arrested after attacking another student. Alissa is believed to have been living in Arvada with his brother and his family which is in the restaurant business.
