Kids Taken After Mom's Death Back Home

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say three young children kidnapped from the Los Angeles area after their mother was killed are back in California after being found safe in New Mexico.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Capt. Steve Katz said Friday that the children were flown back Thursday night.

They're in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services, which will decide whether they can be placed with family.

A couple wanted in connection with the kidnapping and the death of the children's mother were arrested without incident Thursday in Pueblo, Colorado.

Katz says detectives are flying there Saturday to interview Joshua Robertson and Brittney Humphrey, the victim's half sister.
