Kidnapping, Stalking Suspect Tampered With Ankle Monitor

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- The Adams County Sheriff's Office is searching for a kidnapping and stalking suspect who tampered with his electronic ankle monitor.

The sheriff's office said Manuel David Hernandez was out on bond awaiting trial for the charges of second-degree kidnapping, stalking, theft and domestic violence.

On Friday, the sheriff's office personnel received a notification that Hernandez, 20, had tampered with the strap of the electronic ankle monitor that he was wearing as a condition of his bond.

Hernandez was successful in removing the ankle monitor which was found this morning in Thornton. On Friday evening, deputies say he threatened a victim of his previous crimes.

Hernandez is described as an Hispanic male, 5-feet-9, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

A warrant has been issued for Hernandez, anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to call police.
