Juvenile Bear Keeps Breaking Into Homes In Aspen

ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A trap has been set for a bear that's been breaking into homes in Aspen.

The animal got into two homes Saturday morning in the Burlingame neighborhood but also broke into several others earlier in the week.

The Aspen Daily News reports the juvenile bear that weighs about 100 pounds got in through open windows each time.

"This bear has learned human dwellings are a source of food. That can lead to a very bad situation," Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesman Mike Porras told the Aspen Daily News.

Wildlife officials say the bear has become too accustomed to finding food in houses and will be put down if caught.
