Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Vehicular Homicide In Littleton Officer's Death

LITTLETON , Colo. (CBS4) - A man accused of vehicular homicide in the death of a Littleton police officer has been found guilty.

A jury convicted Jemal Abdelkader Dawed, 39, in the May 2013 death of Kevin Denner after deliberating for approximately three hours.

According to prosecutors, Denner's motorcycle collided with Dawed's vehicle after Dawed failed to yield to oncoming traffic and turned in front of him in Aurora. Denner was dragged more than 20 feet.

Denner was off duty at the time of the crash.

Dawed's blood-alcohol content was .091 percent, which is over the legal limit of .08. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 31.
