Jury Convicts Man Of 1st Degree Murder In Girlfriend's Death

BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A jury has convicted a man of first-degree murder for killing his girlfriend at a motel in Adams County.

The Adams County District Attorney's Office says jurors deliberated for fewer than two hours Thursday before finding 34-year-old Joshua Thomas Bohl guilty of the Nov. 2, 2014, death of 29-year-old Jayme Hosier. Bohl is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 3.

Prosecutors say he killed Hosier and left her body while he went to stay with his ex-girlfriend in Fort Lupton. He called police two days later claiming that Hosier was killed when a television set fell on her face.

The coroner concluded that Hosier died of asphyxia due to blunt-force trauma to the neck.
